Join the seminar “Progress and Challenges in Press&Sinter” in Barcelona on 28-29 March 2023!
Press&Sinter absorbs, for the ferrous part production, more than 60% of the powders used in the European market. Therefore, is still by far the most used powder metallurgy technology used to produce and sell parts, that means the most successful powder metallurgy technology, marketwise: so that the term “powder metallurgy” itself is often used as a synonym of Press&Sinter.
Although it might seem a very mature sector, where almost everything has been already studied and optimised, this narrative is not correct. Changes in the requirements driven by the global megatrends, like the need for weight reduction in transportation, the increasing requests in terms of performance and reliability, the push towards electrification, the challenges brought forward by the uncertainties in the supply chain and the stricter chemical management issues, and so on, force the industry to continue evolving.
This “Progress and Challenges in Press&Sinter” EPMA seminar, that will be held in Barcelona (Spain) on 28-29 March 2023, is intended to gather presentations about improvements being introduced in materials and processes for Press&Sinter of metal powders, ferrous and non-ferrous, covering the whole process and supply chain:
- Powders / alloys / powder mixes and their production
- Pressing equipment, including tooling, and related processing procedures
- Sintering / Heat treatment equipment and related processing procedures
- Posttreatment equipment and related processing procedures
- Process/property relationships for Pressed&Sintered materials
- Sustainability issues for all parts of the Press&Sinter process
- All ancillary tools and services available, like digitalisation, simulation, testing, etc.
- Innovative processes
Presentations from industry and academia, and interesting interactive discussions on sustainability and simulation in Press&Sinter are being programmed as special sessions.
The hosting company AMES is one of the largest Press&Sinter parts producers and will host this EPMA seminar in the facilities of Sant Feliu de Llobregat, in Barcelona. The connections and accommodation opportunities in Barcelona are just fantastic, the city being easily reachable via any transportation means.
As the last in person Press&Sinter EPMA seminar dates back to 2018, it will be a very good occasion to meet again and/or enlarge your network within the Press&Sinter community, and learn about some of the newest developments. Thus, participation in person is strongly encouraged for the best experience, although remote connection will be offered.
Find all the details about this event, including a provisional programme with the speakers and titles of the presentations, access information and advice on accommodation, in the relevant seminar page on this website. Remember that the registration deadline will be on 14 March 2023!
