SUMMARY:SummerEv 2026: From Materials Design To Application
DESCRIPTION:Programme   Location Guide \nFrom materials design to application: Alternative binders\, coatings\, advanced characterisation\, reliability\, and recycling \nSummerEv26 explores the full lifecycle of hard materials—from raw materials and materials design\, through innovations in alternative binders and advanced coatings\, to state-of-the-art characterisation techniques (including synchrotron and neutron methods). The program further addresses reliability\, application-relevant testing\, and concludes with sustainable recycling strategies. \nTaking place in Vienna\, Austria\, on May 4th and 5th\, Summerev26 follows the established afternoon–evening–morning format. The tentative program features contributions from TU Wien and a range of national and international collaboration partners\, reflecting the breadth and depth of hard materials research in Austria. A key focus of Summerev26 is the strong link between fundamental research and real-world applications\, fostering dialogue between academia and industry and highlighting how scientific advances translate into reliable\, sustainable material solutions. \n  \nAccommodation in Vienna \nVienna is a vibrant\, touristic city with a wide variety of accommodation options to suit every preference. \nWhile there are many hotels across the city\, the local host of the event (TU Wien) has hand-picked a few recommendations for our attendees.
