SUMMARY:SummerEv 2026: From Materials Design To Application
DESCRIPTION:Programme   Location Guide \nFrom materials design to application: Alternative binders\, coatings\, advanced characterisation\, reliability\, and recycling \nSummerEv26 explores the full lifecycle of hard materials—from raw materials and materials design\, through innovations in alternative binders and advanced coatings\, to state-of-the-art characterisation techniques (including synchrotron and neutron methods). The program further addresses reliability\, application-relevant testing\, and concludes with sustainable recycling strategies. \nTaking place in Vienna\, Austria\, on May 4th and 5th\, Summerev26 follows the established afternoon–evening–morning format. The tentative program features contributions from TU Wien and a range of national and international collaboration partners\, reflecting the breadth and depth of hard materials research in Austria. A key focus of Summerev26 is the strong link between fundamental research and real-world applications\, fostering dialogue between academia and industry and highlighting how scientific advances translate into reliable\, sustainable material solutions. \n  \nAccommodation in Vienna \nVienna is a vibrant\, touristic city with a wide variety of accommodation options to suit every preference. \nWhile there are many hotels across the city\, the local host of the event (TU Wien) has hand-picked a few recommendations for our attendees. These selected hotels are conveniently located and have reserved a limited number of rooms specifically for our event participants. \nWe recommend booking early to secure your space at these preferred rates. (* Please note that if you wish to book the third option (Motel One)\, please complete the dedicated booking form here no later than 23 March to the indicated email.) \nAccommodation  \nRegistration Process & Payment Information \nRegistration for WinterEV is now open. To ensure a smooth process\, please note that registration and invoicing are handled in two stages: \n1. Pre-Registration (via EPMA) \nPlease complete the registration form below with all the required participant details. No payment is collected at this stage. \n2. Invoicing and Payment (via TU Wien) \nOnce you have submitted your details to EPMA\, your information will be securely transferred to our local host\, TU Wien (Technical University of Vienna). \nInvoicing: TU Wien will issue and send the official invoice directly to the email address provided during registration. \nProcessing Time: Data is transferred to the university on a weekly basis; please allow a few business days for your invoice to arrive. \nConfirmation: Your registration is considered complete once the invoice from TU Wien has been settled. \nImportant Note: Please ensure your accounting department is aware that the invoice for this EPMA event will be issued by TU Wien. \n  \nREGISTRATION FEES\n200€ for speakers\n250€ for members\n500€ for non members

SUMMARY:HM Seminar - WinterEV
DESCRIPTION:Programme Location Direction Accommodation\nTHEMATIC approach to HARD MATERIAL EVALUATION\nThe WINTEREVs are series of themed meetings organised by the European Hard Materials Group (EuroHM) of the European Powder Metallurgy Association. The aim is to bring together experts in a particular theme for in-depth discussion of technical issues at a precompetitive level. WINTEREV objectives target technical issues through workshops focusing on an area of importance to both research and industrial communities. Each meeting aims to review research objectives in the light of industry requirements. Where appropriate\, standards activities are included in the review. The topics for debate are sought through questionnaires and other consultation exercises. \nThe proposed WINTEREV 24 meeting will continue our recent agreement to examine in more depth than in earlier WINTEREV/SUMMEREV outings exploring specific characterisation methods and their disadvantages and capabilities. Each contribution is targeted from an expert in the field followed by a practical or theoretical worked example of how the technique or modelling approach will contribute to advancing our knowledge of the properties of hard materials. The following table gives a list of some relevant themes chosen from recent EuroHM strategy assessments. The extensive number of items provides scope for using this approach in a suite of consecutive WINTEREV/SUMMEREVs. \n \nThe recent SIMUCRACK and MICROMECH club projects of EPMA provide good examples where complementary research groups are collaborating successfully using state of the art characterisation themes that illustrate the concept we would like to promote. The overarching aim is to keep the hard material research community up to date with measurement and modelling approaches across the materials environment\, both physical and mechanical. \nEVENT FEES:  \nNon-Members: 400 € + VAT\nMembers : 275 € + VAT\nUniversities/Speakers/chairs: 125 € + VAT
