Powder Based Metal Additive Manufacturing Technologies
Additive Manufacturing (AM), is a process of joining materials to make objects from 3D model data, usually layer upon layer, as opposed to subtractive manufacturing methodologies. Metal AM includes a number of complementary powder-based technologies such as powder bed fusion or blown powder deposition. The powder as raw material, either for powder bed or blown powder technologies, constitutes an important strategy in metal AM. Europe has a leading position in manufacturing of the metal powder feedstock as well as powder bed fusion AM.
The seminar will be hosted by the Centre for Additive Manufacturing - Metal (CAM2) at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Powder Based Metal Additive Manufacturing Technologies will cover powder based metal AM technologies and the whole AM manufacturing chain, including such aspect as design for AM, powder for AM, quality assurance and standardization in AM as well as post-AM treatment. This intensive three-day seminar will be combined with industrial visits to Arcam Academy and Digital Metal as well as the facilities at CAM2.
